General Information On BRASS ASS RIDESBy Denny Jurman In 1998, I was asked to do a series of Brass Ass Rides (500 miles or more). We did these from March thru November of that year. We had a great time. We went to places we had never heard of and managed to put 5,635 miles on our bikes with these eight rides. We also had a lot of laughs, a lot of anxious moments and a lot of fun. Below is how these rides work: These rides are pretty much balls to the wall. Stops are for liquid in and liquid out. You should be able to go at least 150 miles between stops. There will be no planned chase vehicle on these rides. Make sure your bike is well maintained with good tires and battery, and that you have enough survival gear, food and water. If you break down, you are on your own. We will make sure you are okay, but the rest of the group will continue the ride. If you don’t feel comfortable going the speeds the group goes, or if you need more or longer rest stops, you will have directions so that you can catch us when we stop for lunch at our destination. These things are not intended to scare anyone off or talk anyone out of going. They are only to let you know what’s in store for you if you decide to go on one of the Iceman’s Brass Ass Rides. These rides are not affiliated with a H.O.G. Chapter or any other motorcycle group. It's just something some of us like to do. Recently, people have been asking me when I am scheduling the next Brass Ass Ride. I had a ride scheduled last month to ride to Parkfield (576 miles), but I had to postpone it due to a conflict. Watch for a new date for this ride some time in October or November. |
