Welcome 2012!
We got off to a great start this year with an exceptional planning meeting and Bob Wilde’s annual 4 corner ride. Many thanks to those that stepped up with rides and for those that have led them so far this year.
Bob’s ride got delayed but finally we had epic weather and riding conditions and a crowd that swelled to 34! We added a new member or two and I was thrilled to see many new faces, along with some who I see only once a year!
We hold these truths to be self evident….undoubtedly you’re familiar with this opening? Well, I’d like to add the following; Every trip includes at least, one U-turn! I led a group from Corona, picked up one along the way in Escondido planning to link up with the main group coming from Swallows. I proceeded to miss my turn at the 125 junction, but, alas, I’m allowed that one U turn and we made a speedy recovery and still were able to catch the main group in Spring Valley…..whew!
Safety remains our singular focus when riding as a group so do your part to maintain your ride in ready condition and look out for others who may have a loose part, malfunctioning light/lamp or marginal rubber as we gather for any ride.
